!Census: 1920 {Wis., Monroe County, Little Falls Twnshp, E.D. 132, Sheet 4 line 73} lists just Carl and Wilhiminia. Next door were the William Hartungs, and three farms away were the Henry Yeske's. In addition to Henry, Alma, Richard age 8,
Hazel, and a Servant- John B. Hamain? are listed.
[947] OBITUARY; Richard L. Yeske, 87, of 713 Leonard St., West Salem died Monday, Feb. 1st, 1999, at Mulder Health Care Facility, West Salem
[948] He was born on Oct. 4, 1911, in La Crosse, To Henry and Alma (Damerow) Yeske. He married Alvina Pollack on Nov. 24th, 1945, in Sparta. They farmed in the Cataract area and then moved to Manitowoc and Whitewater, where he worked.
[949] They retired and moved back to Sparta, where Richard worked as caretaker of the Woodlawn Cemetery. Alvina passed away on Sept 26th, 1988.

He is survived by a stepson, Raymond (Lorraine) Williams of Friendship, Wis.; Three stepgrandchildren, Chris Schwier of Barre Mills, Wis., Ruth (Roger) Summerfield of Barre Mills, and LeRoy Williams of Waukegan, Ill.; two stepreat-grandsons,
Loren (Michelle) Schwier of Barre Mills and Jason Schwier of Barre Mills; several stepgreat-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Tucker and Marie Marz, both of Sparta; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was
preceded in death of a stepson, Spencer; and two stepgrandsons, Orin and Eugene.
[951] Funeral services will be Friday at 11 am at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sparta, with the Rev. Del Begalka officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta
[952] Friends may call at the Lanham-Kann Funeral Home, Sparta, on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM, and at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of services.
