Obituary: Miss Esther Yeskie-- The funeral services of Miss Esther Yeskie were held at the Mattson funeral home, last Wednesday aternoon, Rev. Clarence Hanscom, of Melrose, conducting the service. The flower girls were her
classmates, Misses Merle Letson, Rena Martin and Margaret and Mildred Mulry, all of Sechlerville. The pallbearers were Patrick Held, Gordon Dunlap, Ernest Feyen, Ollie Feyen, Wilbur Cummings and Patrick Benda, neighbors of the family in Alma.
The song service was rendered by Mrs. Fred Dean and Mrs. William Olson, of Hixton. There were many beautiful floral Tributes. Interment was made at the Melrose cemetery, where her good mother was laid away only last February.
[737]
Miss Yeske suffered of a peculiar and severe form of infection, which affected her left hip, and the base of the spine, also her right side. She was brought to the Krohn hospital for treatment on July 20th, and she suffered patiently as
everthing possible was done for her relief. The infection was of a nature for which science has as lyet provided no certain remedy, and she passed away on Sept. 11, 1933, at the age of 17 years, 8 months and 25 days. Herr death was the fourth
in her family within three years, her brothers, Spencer and Vilas having preceded her, and her mother passing away on Feb 11, of this year, in consequence of fatal burns accidentally received at her home on the day previous.
[738] She was born at Melrose on Dec. 15, 1915, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yeskie. The family later resided in the town of Curran, and the past couple of years in the town of Alma. In each community she had made many good friends.
[739] She is survived by her father, four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Meyers, of La Crosse, Mrs. Harriet Svoboda of Hixton, and Misses Ruth and Alice, at home, and six brothers, Maynard, Harold, Merlin, Harley, James and Robert, at home.
[740]
She was a bright, amiable young lady, one who won her way into the hearts of her schoolmates and others who knew her. After the death of her mother and until her illness came upon her, she took over the household and responsibilties for her
father, and bravely assisted him. In her long illness at the hospital she became a favorite of other patients whose courageous fight to regain her health. Her thoughts went constantly to her home and family, the loved ones for whom she desired
to live. The deepest sympath of all goes out to them in their sad bereavement..
[743] DEATH CERTICATE: { VOL 13, PAGE 357, JACKSON CO., WIS.} Esther Yeske resided in Alma Center, was in the hospital from July 21, 1933 to Sept. 11, 1933. Died on Sept. 11, 1933, 4:15 am at the Black River Falls hospital.
[744] Cause listed as SEPTECEMIA, SEPSIS FINGER JUL 20, PYEMIA, WITH MULTIPLE ABSCESSES AUG 11, HIPS SPINES AND LEGS. Contributary causes- secondary anemia- no operations, signed Dr. Robert Krohn.
