[160] Obituary: Orpha Annette Yeske--Orpha Annette Yeske died Friday morning, February 3, 1984. She had reached the age of 83 yrs. 5 months, and 26 days.
[161] She was born in Bethel, Wisconsin, on August 7, 1900. The daughter of Josiah and Elizabeth (Bliss) Baker. On May 6, 1926, she was united in marriage to Arthur R Yeske in Winona, Minneasota.

They lived in Richand County for three years and then spent the rest of their married lives in the Sparta area. Orpha worked at Rolling Hills Nursing Home for ten years. She was a member of ST. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church
in Cataract, the Royal Neighbors, and the Helping Hand Club.

She was preceded in death by sisters and brothers. Surviving are her husband, Arthur, three sons, Laurel of Burlington, Wis., Mervin of New Berlin, Wisconsin, and Hillman of Butternu, Wis.; ten grandchildren, and six great
grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 1984, at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cataract, with rev. Paul Kante officiating. There was a congregational singing and Mrs. Florence Kremmer played selection
hymns. Burial was in the Cataract Cemetery with the following pallbearers; Gregory Yeske, Dennis Yeske, Robert Yeske, David Yeske, Bruce Yeske, and Floyd Schmidt. The Page-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

1893, to Andrew and Elizabeth (Young) Wadel. He was raised in La Crosse County and he married the former Elsie F. Nienast in Monroe County on June 6,1923.The couple lived in Sparta, California and Warrens before moving to the Oak Ridge area of
Jackson County in 1 957.
[1135] Thomas Wade] served in the army during World War One. and he was an auto mechanic and welder in Sparta, Adams, and California. He also worked at Fort McCoy.

Surviving Thomas Wadel are his wife; Elsie; three sons, Douglas, - Greenwood, Wayne. Pasadena Texas. and Conrad of Plainfield, Wisconsin: one daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Dennis) Roberts, Black River Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Florence (Roy)
Pfaff of Bangor. and Mrs. Rachel (Roy) Lasch of Mindoro. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald, and five brothers.

Funeral services for Thomas Wadel will be Monday, August 5, at one p.m. from Torgerson's Funeral Chapel, Black River Falls. Pastor Gary Mac Manus will officiate. and burial with military honors will be ir Brookside Cemetery at
Millston. Friends called at Torgerson's Funeral Chapel or Sunday from six until eight p.m and on Monday from noon until the time of the services.
