[140] OBITUARY{ Melrose Chronicle, Sept 21, 1988} Arthur R. Yeske, 88, of Rolling Hills Nursing Home, Sparta, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 1988 at St. Mary's Hospital, Sparta.
[141] He was born in Cataract, Wis. on May 3, 1900 to Otto and Tena (Kemp) Yeske.

On May 6, 1926 he was united in marriage to Orpha Baker in Winona, Minn. They lived in Richland County for three years and farmed in the Sparta area for a short time. He was an auto mechanic for about ten years. He also became a lumber
man and ran his own saw mill. He also owned a farm machine shop.
[143] His wife, Orpha, died Feb. 3, 19894. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia Yeske.
[144] Surviving are 3 sons: Laurel of Burlington, Wis., Mervin of New Berlin, and Hillman of Butternut, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
[145] Funeral services were at 2 PM Wed. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cataract with the Rev. Paul E Kante Officiating. Burial was in the Cataract Cemetery.
[146] Friends called at the Page-Smith Funeral Home, Sparta after 4 PM Tuesday and Wednesday from 8-11 AM and at the church from 1-2 PM.

[706] OBITUARY: Mildred M. Nesseth, 87, of La Crosse, died on Monday, June 16, 1997 at the Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center. She was born on July 31, 1909 in Melrose, Wis. to Charles and Nellie (Amborn) Yeske.

She is survived by her son, William (Eunice) Meyer.of La Crosse; a step-son, Kenneth (Eunice) Nesseth of Janesville, Wis.; a step-daughter, Lois (Kenneth) Peterson of West Salem; five grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; a
great-greatgrandchild; her sister, Harriet voboda of La Crosse; three brothers, Merlin (Ethel) Yeske and Jim (Rosemary) Yeske, both of La Crosse, and Robert Yeske and his special friend, Shirley of Hixton, Wis. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Peter, and eight brothers and sisters.
